Effect of a change in mixture compaction mechanism with pressing on the nature of the dependence of combustion rate on porosity
T. V. Monasevich Tomsk
Abstract:
It is shown that in order to determine the contact area of a compacted mixture it is more convenient to use pore volume of a body for a unit mass of any composition. An analytical form of the dependence of contact area on porosity for any composition is obtained and a method is suggested for determining the limits of the compaction stage of the process. Comparison of dependences on porosity for contact area and combustion rate revealed conformity of values of porosity with which the maximum combustion rate is observed for borides, intermetallics, titanium carbide and silicide, and porosity limits for the stage of reaction mixture compaction.
