Abstract: The development of oscillatory combustion of air suspensions of metal Al, Mg, Zr, and Fe particles and their mechanical mixtures was studied experimentally. The general and distinguishing features of the process, as compared with homogeneous gas mixtures, were determined. A theoretical interpretation, based on analysis of the stability of the one-dimensional model of a quasiflame, is given for the mechanisms found.
