Abstract:
The general features of the development of cumulative phenomena in systems with diverging shock waves are examined. It is proposed that the latter can be converted into converging shocks for the purpose of producing cumulative effects if special shaping elements are included in the structure of the explosive device. Experimental confirmation of this proposition is presented. Symmetry is shown to play an important role in the development of cumulative effects.
