Concept of elastic-inelastic interactions of jet flows and collision of jets of an ideal incompressible liquid

Abstract:
Within the framework of the analogy between the collision of bodies of finite size and bodies of infinite length the concept of elastic-inelastic interactions has been extended to the collision of jet flows, so that collisions as a whole and possible interaction modes could be analyzed without a detailed consideration of the processes occurring in the region of the interaction. The concept of absolute inelastic interaction has been extended to the collision of liquid bodies or jets and the model of an ideally incompressible liquid for the material of bodies or jet flows corresponds to the limiting variant of inelastic interaction, which is characterized by the absence of heat loss. Within the approximations made physically likely solutions have been obtained for two classical problems of hydrodynamics: the problem of the asymmetric collision of free jets of an ideal incompressible liquid and the problem of collisions of jets moving along the walls of a wedge.
