Abstract: On the basis of analysis of the kinetic properties of tetranitromethanebenzene (TNM-B) we confirm the fundamental possibility of utilizing the phenomenon of explosive initiation under hydrostatic compression to increase the launch velocity of bodies that are equipped with an “integral” [traveling] propellant charge.
