Abstract:
Studies were conducted on reducing the sensitivity of fusible hexogen-bearing explosives to mechanical loads. It is shown that sensitivity can be reduced to the level of trotyl by diluting the explosive with trotyl and dinitronaphthalene, as well as by mixing it with oxyzine. A universal desensitizer – ethylene glycol – has been found for alloys of the TGA type. The addition of 5% ethylene glycol to the mixture also reduces sensitivity to the level of trotyl.
