Ignition of porous, solid radiation source

Abstract:
Asymptotic analysis of the ignition of a semiinfinite porous body by a radiant heat flux yields a critical condition dividing ignition from inert heating. For the case of ignition, the temperature field in the body prior to ignition and the time characteristics of the process are determined. The dependence of the ignition time on the system parameters is analyzed.
