Abstract:
The two-dimensional unsteady problem of the formation and propagation of a super-compressed detonation wave during a transition of the detonation from a large round pipe into a narrow one through a conical converging connecting piece has been formulated and solved numerically. It was shown for the first time that in the narrow pipe portion the degree of super-compression of the detonation wave changes in the form of periodic fluctuations with an attenuating amplitude. The effect was established of the parameter gradients behind the detonation wave front on the transition boundary between the regular and irregular (Mach) reflection of the Chapman–Juguet wave from the connecting pipe wall.
