Dynamics of foam combustion

Abstract: Experiments on combustion dynamics of water–fuel foams in tubes showed that foams filled with hydrogen–air mixtures burn at steady-state. Two types of transients appear in the combustion of foams with methane–air mixtures. The transients are shown to result when acoustic vibrations that accompany combustion interact with the foam and directly with the flames.
