Abstract:
A mechanism of generation of long-wave acoustical disturbances in the atmosphere due to large fires has been developed. A mathematical model for the phenomenon has been formulated. The solution obtained gives a qualitative explanation and quantitative description of acoustical effects recorded experimentally at long distances from powerful fires, which allows the diagnostics of large fires to be made with the help of barographic records of pressure waves on the ground. The radiation coefficient for the acoustical energy has been found.
