Condition of formation of submicrocracks in the shock-wave processing of metals

Abstract:
Electron microscopy was used to detect and study the formation of submicrocracks located relatively far from a source of strong shock waves. The limiting wave parameters (pressure, distortion) at which no submicrocracks were formed were determined theoretically and confirmed experimentally.
