Stabilization features for a propane-air flame with application of longitudinal and transverse electric fields
D. A. Yagodnikov, A. V. Voronetskii Bauman Moscow State Technical University
Abstract:
Various methods are considered for organizing the action of an electric field on the combustion of an air-propane mixture at atmospheric pressure. The effect of the polarity of the applied voltage, the position of an annular electrode (longitudinal field), and the diameter of a cylindrical electrode (transverse field) on the flame-out velocity with different mass flow rates of propane are studied. It is shown that the greatest resistance to flame-out occurs when a cylindrical cellular electrode is used. The ionization current is measured over the flame height. The results obtained are explained.
