Abstract:
An experimental technique based on laser heating is suggested for investigating the combustion dynamics of small fuel particles with automated measurement and processing of photoelectric and temperature characteristics. Using the combustion of a drop of a coal-water suspension as an example, it is shown that the technique makes it possible to study the photoelectric and temperature dynamics of combustion of a single drop, to record the duration of the temperature phases of combustion, the moment and temperature of the drop's ignition, and to obtain data on mass burning rate.
