Abstract:
PETN initiation with a specific surface of 8,000 cm$^2$/g and a density of 0.9 g/cm$^3$ by thin metal films of various materials exploded by a laser pulse was studied. For all the materials, a general common relationship between the energy absorbed in the film and the film thickness was obtained. The dynamics of heat loss due to thermal conduction was performed and the losses were shown to be small. The main processes of PETN initiation by light-induced explosion of metal films are described.
