A model of a foam

V. S. Surov

Chelyabinsk State University, 454136, Chelyabinsk
Abstract: The acoustic properties of foams are studied within the framework of a discrete model. The eigenfrequency of pulsations of foam bubbles is calculated, including the case of a shock-compressed foam. Agreement is observed between the propagation velocities of small perturbations calculated using a “layer-by-layer” model and the data obtained using the continuum model of a gas-liquid mixture.
