Abstract:
The effect of polymorphous phase transformations on the structure of stress waves and the fracture of steel spheres under compression by spherically converging shock waves has been studied within the model of a porous elastoplastic medium whose matrix undergoes polymorphous transformations under deformation. Computation results are compared with experimental data available in the literature.
