Abstract:
We have proposed a mathematical model of the process in which fuel oil drops are simulated by drops of slurry carbon. Combustion and pyrolysis of vapors of the liquid component of a fuel were considered in a diffusive approximation. Diffusive and kinetic processes were taken into account upon simulation of the combustion of carbon particles. Computational and experimental investigations have revealed a decisive effect of the carbon black formation processes on the completeness of fuel oil burn-up upon its pyrolysis and upon radiation from the carbon black particles being formed. A method of fuel oil burning with a reduced formation of carbon black was proposed and realized.
