Abstract:
On the basis of experimental data obtained by various methods under high-temperature heating, it is shown that the probability of ignition and detonation of explosives is a function of the degree of their decomposition. The temperature of transition from slow chemical decomposition to autocatalysis is taken as a criterion of heating safety. The degree of decomposition corresponding to this temperature is the base point for the determination of the safety limit for each specific explosive based on known kinetic parameters.
