Abstract:
The combustion of various systems consisting of HMX and an active binder that is capable of self-sustained combustion is studied. It is established that, depending on the HMX particle size and the ratio of the combustion rates of the HMX and binder, the fuel can burn as a unified system, a sequential model, or through interlayers of the binder. Therefore, the combustion rate of the system can be decreases, increased, or remain unchanged with the introduction of HMX.
