Abstract:
A physicomathematical model is proposed for heat- and mass-transfer processes in intumescent multilayer heat- and fire-insulating coatings, with the moisture content distributed over the thickness. This model makes it possible to optimize the composition and structure of the layers in accordance with a given limit of fire resistance. We report results of numerical modeling of heat- and mass-transfer processes with allowance for evaporation, intumescence, and injection as applied to the conditions of operation of fire-protective systems exposed to the thermal action of a real fire.
