Motion of a plate thrown by a glancing detonation wave

Abstract: A method is described for computing the motion of a thrown plate in terms of its specified maximum turning angle and a known polytropic index for the explosion products for use in the explosion working of materials. This method makes it possible to determine the throwing profile, with fair accuracy, over a relatively wide range of the ratio of the masses of the explosive and plate.
