Estimating the explosion resistance of cylindrical composite shell

Abstract:
The consequences of internal explosive loading of cylindrical fiberglass and metalplastic shells are examined. Based on an analysis of the experimental data, a method is developed for making a priori estimates of the explosion resistance of shells. Semiempirical formulas recommended for use in designing explosion-proof chambers with load-bearing shells of these composite materials are presented.
