A method for solving the spatial equation of a burning surface

Abstract: A method for solving the spatial equation of a burning surface is presented. A version of numerical solution of the problem is proposed, and an example of calculation which yields an analytical solution is given for a mushroom-shaped configuration. It is shown that for mushroom-shapped structural elements, the dependence of the burning-surface area on the size of the burnt arch can be stronger than a cubic parabola.
