Abstract:
It is found that an inert flow around elements of combustible forest materials (CFM) with a rate exceeding certain values leads to flame extinction. Theoretically, this can be explained by cooling of the gas in the combustion zone. It is shown that calculated values of the combustion temperature agree well with experimental data. The effect of vibrations of CFM elements on the extinction of gas-phase combustion is considered for the first time.
