Simulation of the erosion burning of a granular propellant

Abstract:
For combustion of axisymmetric propellant grains under blowing conditions, a mathematical model is proposed and numerical simulation is performed. The effects of incoming–flow parameters (velocity, pressure, and temperature) and surface dimensions and geometry on grain–burning rate are studied. Physical patterns of flow around burning propellant grains are presented.
