Approximate modeling, a kinetic model, and a caloric equation of state for chemically reacting gas mixtures at high temperatures

Abstract:
The necessary and sufficient conditions to which the model kinetic equations and the caloric equation of state should be subject for consistency with the second principle of thermodynamics are given. A simple model whose accuracy compares with that of the models with detailed kinetics and a highly accurate description of the constants of equilibrium of the reactions and the internal energies of the components of a mixture is proposed.
