Abstract:
Plate acceleration by a gliding detonation wave is studied experimentally for detonation rates of $\approx$ 950–2000 m/sec. It is found that regular elastic waves occur at the surface of the projectile plate made of a rather strong material, which disappear upon attainment of the upper limit of the detonation rate.
