Abstract:
Results of an experimental study of initiation of a hydrogen-oxygen mixture by a pulsed electron beam are reported. It is shown that pulsed excitation of the gas mixture by an electron beam shifts the first ignition limit to temperatures below 30$^\circ$C at pressures of 100–120 torr. The temperature interval through which the first flammability limit can be shifted by pulsed radiolysis is much greater than the values numerically predicted by other authors for a stoichiometric hydrogen-oxygen mixture under pulsed radiolysis.
Keywords:
hydrogen-oxygen mixture, pulsed electron beam, flammability limit.
