Abstract:
The effect of chemical structure on the thermal stability of multifunctional gem-trinitro compounds is studied. The characteristic temperatures and activation parameters of the thermal decomposition are determined. Depending on the structure of the compounds, the decomposition rate changes by more than two orders of magnitude, which is due not only to the effect of substituents but also to the different mechanisms of the rate-determining stage of the process.
Keywords:
thermal decomposition, gem-trinitro compounds, compensation effect, characteristic temperatures.
