Effect of surface phenomena on target destruction by a multiple impact of solids

E. E. Lin

Institute of Experimental Physics (VNIIEF), Russian Federal Nuclear Center, Sarov, 607190
Abstract: An explanation is offered for elevated effectiveness of penetration of a group of solids into solid targets with a moderate velocity of a multiple impact.
Keywords: multiple impact, solid, liquid phase, interface, adsorption-induced decrease in strength, tensile stress.
