Abstract:
Results of studying the sensitivity of pressed pentaerythrite tetranitrate samples containing 5% (by weight) of Ni–C particles with a characteristic size ranging from 60 to 100 nm to explosion initiation by laser pulses (1.06 $\mu$m; 15 nsec) are presented. The sensitivity of samples with the density equal to the single-crystal density is found to be approximately seven times the sensitivity of samples without nanoparticles.
