Technical aspects of the plasma electrical potential measurement by heavy ion beam probing

Abstract: The paper presents technical aspects description of Heavy Ion Beam Probe (HIBP) diagnostics placed on T-10 tokamak (NRC “Kurchatov Institute”). HIBP physical principles and issues are considered, technical solutions discussed as well. HIBP modes are described, operational limits and T-10 capabilities are compared. Some of recent physical results are presented.
