Abstract: The problems of formation of platinum STM tip are explained with using the method of mechanical cut. The expediency of applying the method of particle dynamics for modeling the cutting process is showed. The comparative results of experimental and theoretical section of the platinum blank, providing the necessary macroscopic shape of the probe, are presented.
