Abstract:
When a missile moves underwaters at a high speed, there appears the cavitation of its body: water starts boiling around the aerodynamic body walls due to drop in local pressure. Gas cavities are also formed near the missile when it travels through gas cavities formed at launch or artificially by air or other gas delivered to the body evacuated area. The hydrodynamic loading can be evaluated through the definition of non-stationary boundaries of a gas cavity and a linear load on a water-flown missile aft. A 3D boundary value problem of the missile cavitational flow at an attack angle with a method of flat sections resolves into a flat hydrodynamic problem, separate for each section of the cavity. Analytical dependences for the linear load are got for the missile aft flown by water. The resulted hydrodynamic loading for cavitational flowing over are compared with experimental data.
