Local and global problems of singularity theory
Collection of papers dedicated to the 60th anniversary of academician Vladimir Igorevich Arnold
Volume Editor: V. M. Zakalyukin Editor in Chief: E. F. Mishchenko
Abstract: The volume is devoted to the 60th birthday of Academician Vladimir I. Arnold. Most of the acticles are written by the participants of his Moskow seminar in singularity theory. The volume contains new results from a wide range of actual problems in analysis, geometry and topology. The main topics might be divided into the following groups: local classifications and properties of singularities of various objects; topological characterization of singularities in various geometrical problems; invariants of spaces of knots, plane curves, topology of the corresponding discriminants, and related combinatorial problems. The applications to differential equations, mathematical physics are discussed.
The volume is intended for specialists in different branches of mathematics including algebraic geometry, dynamical systems, control theory and numerical methods.
