Flow induced by a constantly accelerating plate in a Maxwell fluid

Corina Fetecau, Constantin Fetecau

Technical University "Gh. Asachi", Iaşi, Romania
Abstract: In this note, the analytical solutions corresponding to an unsteady flow induced by a flat plate, in a Maxwell fluid, are determined. These solutions satisfy both the associate partial differential equations and all imposed initial and boundary conditions. The similar solutions corresponding to a Newtonian fluid appear as a limiting case of our solutions. Finally, some numerical results and interesting conclusions are presented.
