Abstract:
Urban systems is a class of complicated systems that are the object of comprehensive studies over recent years. The paper is an attempt to collect, classify and generalize the basic results of these studies. The paper consists of two parts which survey results on formulation of state indices and development criteria as well as on models of urban systems. The paper also includes original data on extension or interpretation of earlier results.
