Experimental estimate of the parameters of a stochastic model of a human operator sensor system

Abstract:
A procedure is developed for estimating the parameters of a stochastic adaptive model of a human operator (perceived noise level, time constant, and signal-to-noise ratio). The results of experimental measurements are provided for different sensitivies of the indicator and intensities of disturbances in the process. Increase of the perceived noise resulting from replacement of single-coordinate tracking by two-coordinate tracking is estimated.
