Abstract: The paper is concerned with development of an optimal mechanism for exchange between two owners of one kind of resources in the assumption that the entire stock is exchangeable. With an assumed behavior of the owners a class of exchange laws is chosen where the optimal law is sought. An analytical expression is obtained for the law as a function of the exchangeable amounts.
