The problem of multidimensional metric scaling

V. M. Pliner

Leningrad
Abstract: The necessary and sufficient condition is obtained for the minimum of one range of criteria in multidimensional metrics scaling. An upperbound of the number of local minima is provided. Two algorithms of multidimensional metrics scaling are proposed, of which one is nonlocal. The results of computing experiments are reported.
