Reliability

Finding the boundaries of reliability indices for complex systems

Yu. L. Muromtsev

Tambov
Abstract: The paper is concerned with computation of boundary values of reliability indices for complex systems given as a set of simple systems and complex systems of hirarchical structure. The indices are stationary probabilities of states in terms of the number of failed elementary systems and the mean fraction of non-failed systems. Identical reliability of components is found, all other conditions being equal, is shown not to increase the overall system reliability.
