Deterministic Systems

A deformational approach то investigation of nonlinear programming problems. II

N. A. Bobylev

Moscow
Abstract: A new approach is proposed to analysis of extremals in nonlinear programming problems whereby the original problem is deformed into a simpler one. The main finding is a maximum principle that if the extremal remains isolated in deformation and leads to a minimum of the reference problem, this extremal also leads to a minimum of the problem at hand. Applications are mentioned to investigation of singular extremals of optimization problems, to problems in classical analysis, etc.
