Computer-Aided Design and Programming

Control of a compound computer program as a variational problem

G. M. Aleschenko

Moscow
Abstract: The functioning of a program package is regarded as the operation of a multi-phase cyclic service system where the entries are processed in a specified sequence. Statements of dynamic problems in optimal control are proposed for a specific program package in a computer having a fixed structure. The use of necessary optimality conditions makes it possible to replace the variational problems with boundary-value problems whose solution culminates in design of optimal program control. Results of computing experiments are reported.
