Computer-Aided Design and Programming

Computer algorithms for fitting empirical formulas

M. A. Konovalov, E. A. Legovich

Moscow
Abstract: Computer algorithms are provided for selection of empirical formulae (EF) which make use of an approach more general than in manual methods to choice of the formula structure. The formulization and flexible design of computing procedures dramatically reduces the computer load, improves the accuracy of determining the EF parameters,, and reduces the time of search for an EF, optimal in a specified sense. An iterative EF selection procedure is outlined as a functional flowchart.
