Algorithms of search for the extremum of a function distorted by random noise by the method of least squares and splines

V. G. Nikitenko

Moscow
Abstract: The paper is concerned with two modifications of the Keefer – Wolfowitz procedure for finding the extremum point of a regression function wheregy the derivative is estimated by the method of least squares and cubic splines. The results of computer modeling a minimization problem by these two modifications and by a conventional procedure are compared.
