Stochastic Systems

Bottlenecks of distributed systems in face of random disturbances. II

C. E. Kenig, A. P. Korostelev

Moscow
Abstract: A distributed system which is described by a parabolic equation with small random disturbances in the right-hand side is discussed. Deflection of states of such a system from those of undisturbed (deterministic) system is studied. A concept is introduced of a bottleneck as a point in the spatial region where the deflection is at its largest. Algorithms for numerical determination of bottlenecks are indicated.
