Abstract: The paper discusses the problem of choosing an optimal strategy of switching the rates at which customer are served in a multilinear two-rate service system with a time period spent on rate switching. The solution is sought in the calss of hysteresis strategies. The stationary probabilities are determined for a service system; a sufficient condition is proved for existence of a stationary mode. The case of threshold strategies is discussed in more detail.
