Stochastic Systems

Bottlenecks of distributed systems in face of random disturbances. I. Distributed disturbances

A. P. Korostelev

Moscow
Abstract: A distributed system is considered which is described by a parabolic equation with small random disturbances in the righthand side. Deflection of states of such a system from that of an undisturbed (deterministic) system is investigated. The concept of a bottleneck is introduced as a point in a spatial region where the deflection magnitude is at its largest. Algorithms for numerical computation of bottlenecks are specified.
