Some aspects of the general theory of best option choice
M. A. Aizerman, A. V. Malishevskii Moscow
Abstract:
The classical mechanisms of best option choice, in particular optimizing, use, explicitly or implicitly, the structural principle of “pairwise comparability” of the options and the specific logic of the “dominant” rule of choice. The paper justifies the possibility and necessity of going beyound the framework of “pairwise dominance” in the structures and choice rules and of a transition to “nonclassical” structures and rules. This transition is shown to be feasible by formalizing the concept of “multiple mutual influences” in determining the best options.
