Buffering optoelectronic memory: impact on effectiveness of a computing system
V. V. Kitovich, V. N. Pospelov Moscow
Abstract:
The paper is concerned with a model of a single processor computing system with buffered optoelectronic memory which is used as RAM and the effectiveness of this system is estimated. Two versions of buffer memory (BM) are considered: conventional single unit and BM of the same memory which consists of two identical independent units. In the latter case the system employs a certain predicting algorithms for updating BM pages. Expressions are given for information exchange rates in the units and the entire system. Two-unit BM is found useful.
